ST. PAUL, Minn. – Dec. 3, 2020 – Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, has been named to Newsweek’s 2021 list of America’s Most Responsible Companies, ranking 42 overall and second in the materials industry. This is Ecolab’s second year on Newsweek’s list, which began in 2020.

 

Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies list recognizes the top 400 performing companies in 14 industry subcategories that are giving back to the communities in which they operate.

 

Ecolab helps companies work more efficiently and sustainably. In 2019, it helped its customers around the world save 206 billion gallons of water, equivalent to the annual drinking water needs of 712 million people, and avoid 1.5 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

 

With its 2030 Impact Goals, Ecolab is setting its sights beyond environmental outcomes. In addition to ambitious water and climate goals, the company aims to expand its work to help reduce disease and infections around the world, accelerate its efforts to build a diverse, inclusive workforce and support communities affected by water stress.

 

Companies Included in Newsweek’s Most Responsible Companies list were selected from a pool of 2,000 based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from CSR reports, sustainability reports and corporate citizenship reports, in addition to an independent survey of 7,500 U.S. residents.
