Stefan Umiastowski is the senior vice president and market head for the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) market at Ecolab Inc., a global sustainability leader offering water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services that protect people and the resources vital to life.

As the head of the IMEA region, Stefan oversees operations in more than 70 IMEA countries, guiding a team of over 2,000 people who serve thousands of customers in more than 40 different industries across a vast, complex, and diverse geography.

Stefan joined Ecolab in 2014, moving through the ranks and taking on roles of increasing responsibility including General Manager Pest Elimination France and Belgium, vice president Sales F&B Central and Eastern Europe and Russia (CEER) and senior vice president and market head, CEER. Stefan's exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities were tested during the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine, which he skillfully managed with empathy for people and purposeful leadership.

Stefan began his professional experience as an officer in the French Army, where he honed his strategic decision making and situational leadership expertise. Passionate about business, he left the Army in 2007 and joined Kaefer, a privately owned German company and worldwide leader in industrial thermal insulation.

French with Polish roots, Stefan holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of South Brittany and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, France. He speaks French, English, Polish, Spanish and resides with his family in Dubai, UAE.
